ORBEA GAIN

The feeling of exploring endless roads, spending a whole day on the bike riding from sunrise to sunset. A way to discover what surrounds you with your friends while feeling the air, the cold and the heat, enjoying every curve on the descent and admiring the landscape when climbing. That is what Orbea Gain is made for.

Gain was our first project after the huge 2020 lockdown that all the world suffered. A new challenge, our first work for Orbea, and a new way of working for us. For this project we based the idea on a documentary. We wanted the riders to experience the ride, to enjoy the area and guide them through the roads in order to capture those moments precisely. 

We chose the Somiedo area in Asturias, formed by 2 valleys and infinite options for riding, with two main mountain passes and some small steep roads around. It definitely was the area to test the new Gain to its maximum. 

In terms of cast we chose two young profiles, male and female, and one senior who would act as Gain rider. Victor, Lia and Eloy formed a great team to work with; active, playful and really passionate about cycling. We dressed them with different brands as Sportful, Pas Normal Studios and Tactic,  who wanted to collaborate in the project. 

Three full days of shooting in a mix of weather and conditions gave us an incredible opportunity to create that documentary feeling in 1 min video. As always Asturias was our wildcard, with its landscapes, people and atmosphere.
